Swai

Swai, scientific name (Pangasius hypophthalmus), is a freshwater species that feed on other fish, crustaceans, and plants.

Native to the Mekong basins, Chao Phraya, and other rivers of Vietnam, in South and Southeast Asia, Swai is an aquaculture fish.

Swai is a white-flesh fish, with a sweet, mild, taste and light flaky texture and stands out for the following characteristics:

  • Low-fat content.
  • Contains Omega 3 fatty acids.
  • Rich in protein.
  • Contains B group vitamins.
  • Rich in minerals such as phosphorus, calcium, and iron.

Vima’s swai is mainly presented in fillets, boneless, making it a perfect choice for schools and hospitals.

Firm texture and soft flavor make it very versatile, adaptable to any number of cooking methods.

Being the skinless and boneless swai fillet, one of the most popular presentations, we also offer it in other formats such as slices or presented whole.
