HALIBUT

DESCRIPTION

The halibut (Hippoglossus hippoglossus) is a flatfish of the Pleuronectidae family. A large, flatfish that lives near the sandy bottom of the sea and is characterized by having both eyes on the right side of its head.

Halibut is a white fish low in calories and saturated fat:

  •  Source of essential fatty acids.
  • It has lean white meat.
  •  Naturally rich source of minerals such as iodine, calcium, zinc, potassium, phosphorus and magnesium among others.

Vima halibut is mainly presented in completely cleaned, skinned and boneless fillets. It is a fish with lean, soft, delicate flesh and firm texture. Vima halibut fillet sizes range from 300 to 500 grams.
