DESCRIPTION

The cuttlefish is a cephalopod marine mollusk with a hard part or shell that is calcareous in nature and keel-shaped inside. With eight arms and two tentacles, the cuttlefish is related to squid and octopuses.

It lives in shallow temperate or tropical coastal waters, where it feeds on small crabs, shrimp and some types of fish.

Cuttlefish, in addition to being a food source, are also used as a source of black ink and even their inner shell can be used as a source of calcium for breeding birds.

Nutritionally, cuttlefish is

  • Very low in saturated fat.
  • Good source of vitamin C, B12.
  • Very good source of protein and calcium

Vima cuttlefish is offered perfectly clean and in various sizes along with its ink, which can be used on rice and pasta dishes.

Cuttlefish meat has a meatier texture than squid and also a sweeter and more delicate flavor. The ink is highly prized by chefs for its rich flavor and tarry black sheen.
