DESCRIPTION

 

The marlinMakaira indica), is a large, highly migratory fish found in tropical and temperate seas around the world. The marlin has smooth skin and a streamlined shape, allowing it to be one of the fastest species, and is characterized by a sword-shaped extension at the tip of its head.

Marlin is considered a blue fish and nutritionally stands out for:

  • It provides vitamins A, B3, B6, B9 and B12 and vitamin D.
  • High content of minerals such as iron, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sodium and selenium.
  • Contains Omega-3 fatty acids.

Vima offers marlin in large, clean loins from 2 to 5 kg, as well as in slices, in both cases vacuum-packed, which allows its natural qualities and properties to be always preserved.

The meat, which is greyish white in colour, firm in texture and has a moderate fat content, is considered to be of very high quality. It is a very versatile fish in the kitchen, which can be prepared steamed, grilled or roasted in the oven, among other options.
