Green Beans

The bean is a plant of the Fabaceae family, the edible parts are the seeds (fresh and dried) and the pods if the seeds are not yet mature. It came from Central America and it was first introduced in Spain by the colonists, from where it spread to other countries since the 16th Century.

The nutrients they provide are:

  • Minerals among them phosphorus, potassium which takes part in the elimination of the excess fluid and helps control hypertension.
  • Vitamins C, folic acid, A.
  • Fiber protects the intestine with very few calories.
  • Antioxidants protect cells in your body from free radical damage.
  • They lower the cholesterol level.

Vima Green Beans are selected at its optimum level of ripeness in Europe, mainly Belgium, Spain, and China. Available all year round.

The freezing preserves the nutrients and is blanched before freezing inactivating the enzymes that would modify its organoleptic characteristics.

The advantage of Vima Green Beans is that being a frozen and blanched product, it allows us to shorten the preparation time.

Presented in portions from 3 to 5 cm (1.18 inches – 1.97 inches) and in different formats according to the customers´ needs.
