Edamame

Edamame is a plant of the family (Fabaceae). The edible parts are the immature soybeans that are collected in their pods. It has its origins in East Asia but is gaining popularity in Western Countries, where it is typically eaten as a snack.

Edamame is:

  • High in protein, antioxidants, and fiber.
  • Low in carbs.
  • Rich in several vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin K and folate.

Vima Edamame is presented in two presentations: Edamame Shelled Soybeans and Edamame Soybeans in the pod. Both products are originally harvested in China.

Generally, you can easily heat the beans by boiling, steaming, pan-frying, or microwaving them for a few minutes.

Traditionally, they are prepared with a pinch of salt and added to soups, stews, salads, noodle dishes, or eaten. It is a common product served in sushi bars and many Chinese and Japanese restaurants.
