Anchovy

Anchovies are tiny, very small saltwater fish characterized by a silver-colored longitudinal stripe from head to tail.

They can range from one inch to fifteen inches in length in adulthood.

They are found in all three oceans and the Mediterranean Sea and are among the largest capture fisheries in the world, Peru as the world’s top supplier.

Anchovies’ fat content is quite high and therefore tends to be presented cured.

They have a strong taste when cured, which works perfectly as an extra flavourful ingredient when paired.

Anchovies are:

  • Very rich in Omega-3 fatty acids.
  • An excellent source of protein.
  • Have a high content of vitamin B12.

Vima Anchovies are presented cured in olive oil following a traditional recipe.

They are filleted, salt-cured, and stored in olive oil that produces an intense salty flavor.

You can add them to pizza, favorite salad, and a pasta dish on their own on a slice of your favorite bread.
